Popscale · Onboarding

Give new employees a confident start.

Help new colleagues understand the job, practice customer situations and get feedback along the way. Bring knowledge and practical training together in a Journey built around their role.

  • New customer-facing employees
  • Seasonal hiring
  • Growing teams

From knowledge to conversation

The first week should offer more than information. It should give people a foundation.

A concrete example

The first week at the front desk.

A new colleague needs to handle early check-in. The same situation connects the content, the coaching and the practice – before it comes up at the front desk.

What the employee should be able to do

Handle a guest arriving before their room is ready and offer a clear next step.

Journey

Open each activity to explore the content

  1. Day 1EpisodesUnderstand the guest experience.

A short audio episode introduces the hotel’s approach to service and its check-in procedures.

    Example content

What does the guest need to know when their room is not ready yet?

    What this activity adds

A shared foundation for the conversations and practice ahead.

    Explore Episodes
  2. Day 2CoachingThink through what you can offer.

The new colleague talks to an AI coach about turning the procedures into a helpful answer for the guest.

    Example content

The room is not ready. What do you find out before suggesting a solution?

    What this activity adds

Feedback on how the employee explains the procedure and applies their knowledge.

    Explore Coaching
  3. Day 3RoleplayPractice when the guest cannot wait.

An AI guest has traveled a long way and expects a room right away. The employee practices the conversation and can try again after feedback.

    Example content

I’ve been traveling all morning. Are you sure you can’t find me a room now?

    What this activity adds

The response, relevant questions and a clear next step in the practiced situation.

    Explore Roleplay
  4. On shiftChallengesBring the practice to the front desk.

The employee gets a task to use in a suitable guest interaction, then submits a reflection.

    Example content

How did you make the next step clear for the guest? What would you do differently next time?

    What this activity adds

Feedback on the submitted reflection, not an observation of the guest interaction.

    Explore Challenges

One example from a first week. Choose the activities, sequence and scope that fit the role.

Add what the role calls for.

Sometimes you need to understand more before you build. Sometimes the role also calls for a formal assessment.

Studies · Research

Capture what experienced colleagues know.

Interview experienced receptionists about recurring guest questions and situations that new colleagues often find difficult.

The Study has its own report. Use the findings to design or improve your onboarding.

Explore Studies

Assessments · Assess

Make the passing requirements clear.

When the role requires a formal assessment, build an Assessment Journey with Coaching Sessions Assessments and Roleplays.

Set your criteria, attempt limits and passing scores. Employees need to pass every required activity to pass the whole program.

Explore Assessments

Results show progress in the activities. Deciding when someone can work independently also requires follow-up on the job.

Start with one role. And what is hard at first.

  1. Choose the situations

Start with what new colleagues need to explain, do and handle when talking to customers or guests.

  2. Use what you already know

Build on your procedures and material. Knowledge can provide a shared, reviewed foundation for the content.

  3. Bring it together and follow up

Put relevant activities in a Journey, assign it to the right teams and use the results to improve the program.

Common questions

Good to know before you start.

Can we use Popscale alongside our LMS?

Yes. Popscale can work on its own for customer-facing onboarding or alongside your existing LMS. For example, keep your existing material and use Popscale for conversations, practice and feedback. Any technical integrations need to be evaluated separately.

Do we have to use every product?

No. Start with what the role needs, such as an Episode and a Roleplay. Journeys bring your chosen activities together. Add Studies or Assessments when you need interviews or a formal assessment.

Is the first-week example a ready-made standard template?

No. It is an illustrative program. Adapt the situations, material, criteria and pace to your role and organization. There is no fixed number of days required for onboarding.

Can we see when someone is ready to work independently?

You can track completion and assessed results in the activities. With Assessments, you can also set clear passing requirements. Combine these results with your follow-up on the job; they are not a standalone productivity measure or a guarantee of ability in every situation.

Do we need to prepare our own material for a demo?

No. We show how Popscale works in a standard demo and discuss what is relevant to your onboarding. You do not need to prepare material in advance.

Who would you like to give a better start?

In our standard demo, we show how knowledge, practice and follow-up can connect. We also talk about the role you would like to start with.
